About Shiparrested
As stated in our welcome page, shiparrested.com’s aim is to promote expertise and good practise on ship arrest services. For these purposes shiparrested.com welcomes law firms to guide shiparrest.com users as to local arrest practise worldwide.
We encourage therefore within the law firms registered at shiparrested.com to briefly describe, by way of short articles, the local requirements needed to arrest or release a vessel, as for instance:
1. Arrest conventions and laws applicable
2. Time bars
3. Power of Attorney
4. Bank Guarantee (guidance as to the amount requested by the Courts, drafts)
5. P & I Letter of Indemnity (if admitted)
6. Documentation
7. Bailiff
8. Guidance as to legal fees
9. Competent Courts.
All these information e.g. articles, will be placed within shiparrested.com port pages as from May 2001, so that a user/client may obtain at glance all necessary knowledge to ascertain whether an arrest is worth undertaking and /or contesting, thus gaining security and promoting ship arrest expertise.
In exchange to any valuable contribution as described above, shiparrested.com will display free banner advertisement rotating for the contributing law firms (it does not include in any way the design of banner and /or its manufacture) during the period of two months at the port pages registered by the contributing law firm.
